SOUTHBANK TODAY

Southbank Library at the Boyd Community Hub

Here you will find the inviting Southbank Library branch with PCs, free wifi, study spaces, comfortable reading chairs and a bright collection arranged by subject area for ease of browsing. The library is one part of the larger Boyd Community Hub, which is a welcoming space to meet with other members of the Southbank community. There are two bookable spaces to hire, and a café on site.

Southbank specific information is available inside the Southbank Library in a local history collection of books, magazines and newspapers. This collection is dedicated to collecting items that tell the story of the Southbank area. This collection can be used for research or personal interest. There is a local history librarian on staff who is available to help you with your Southbank research.

You can access the Southbank Library 7 days a week and opening hours are available on the Melbourne Library Service website.

Southbank Local News

Here you will find articles that cover happenings in the Southbank area since the publication began in 2011. The Southbank Local News is published monthly and contains articles about developments, buildings, businesses, community groups and services, and activities.

Southbank specific information is all that is published in this newspaper. Back issues are a great way to get up to speed with what has been happening and changing in Southbank during the suburb’s more recent history.

You can access the Southbank Local News in print at the Boyd Community Hub, or online without restriction. Every issue has been scanned and made available as a PDF that you can download and keep.
